Nescafé is the world's largest brand of instant coffee by Nestlé. Max Morgenthaler and his colleagues searched for seven years to create a "coffee cube" that would preserve all the properties of coffee beans and could withstand long-term storage, and then turn into a drink by adding water.
April 1, 1938 "Nescafé" was first produced in industrial conditions. The production was started at a factory in the Swiss town of Orb, 50 km from Nestlé headquarters in Vevey. "Nescafé" quickly gained popularity around the world.
